Obama birthplace lawyer submits suspect document
October 26th, 2009, 4:28 pm · 181 Comments · posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter
Updated Oct. 27 with Associated Press statement ...

Laguna Niguel lawyer Orly Taitz on Sunday electronically filed with the federal court in Santa Ana a document purporting to be a June 27, 2004, Associated Press story in a Kenyan newspaper saying that Barack Obama was born in Kenya ... Obama’s first name is misspelled as “Barrack” ... Second, perusal of the Nexis database finds several versions of a similar story using the same quotes - but none mention Obama’s birthplace ... I received the following statement from Paul Colford, director of media relations for the Associated Press: “The AP has never reported that President Obama was born in Kenya. In fact, AP news stories about the state of Hawaii have confirmed that he was born there. The Kenyan paper that you cite rewrote a 2004 AP story, adding the phrase ‘Kenyan-born.’ That wording was not in the AP version of the story” ... In her filing yesterday, Taitz writes that her version of the AP story .. "is unauthenticated, but is allegedly derived from .. the Associated Press.”

1. Electronic filed?
Are documents of that type permitted to be filed electronically?

Seems to me that they want it both ways. They want Obama to supply his official birth certificate. But they don't provide the actual document they believe to be his birth certificate?

4. All documents in US district courts are electronically filed these days.
The documents have to be put in PDF form and sent electronically.

2. Taiz must think that Snopes is part of a LW conspiracy. They explain this AP story well.

It just makes the GOP look nuttier and nuttier and drives more and more people AWAY from them.

7. Even if Kenya newspaper posted
he was Kenyan born doesn't really make it so. They might have probably wanted it to be so they could claim Obama as their own.
