The average tax cut received by the middle 20% of taxpayers from the * tax cuts = $827
http://www.ctj.org/pdf/gwbdata.pdfThe drop in median household income 1999 - 2003 = $1,604
http://www.cepr.net/publications/poverty.htmIt's simple math if you are $827 better off in lower tax burden and $1604 WORSE off in inflation adjusted income you are worse off.
Of course all this assumes the publican version of the real world, that tax cuts are free money. The reality is we will all pay for them in the long run trough cut in services. ie. school funding that must be made up for in higher local taxed or lessor education for the next generation. We pay in increased inflation as the value of the dollar becomes less. This is in part responsible for the soaring gas prices.
Politics is all about money and power. More of us in the lower 99% of incomes need to learn this vote as if our paycheck matters, and hold those we do vote for to the highest standards.
