Wendy's Cuts 2004 Profit Outlook

Wendy's said it expects to report earnings per share of between $2.25 and $2.30 for 2004. It had earlier predicted a full-year profit of $2.32 to $2.37 per share.

The revised forecast is still 10 to 12 percent above its 2003 earnings.

"Hurricanes Charley, Frances and Ivan have negatively affected sales and profits at Wendy's company and franchised restaurants throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast," the company said.
