2. Closed above $.90 yesterday...
for the first time since the mid 70's.

Some economists are now starting to talk about parity with the USD.

4. That's a complicated question.
I would look to someone who was making a Purchasing Power Parity measure, comparing what each currency buys in its own country. Take ten US, and ten Canadian, from 2000, figure out how many Big Macs each could buy, and repeat for today. That'll tell you.

5. The ozzie dollar's rising, too
The Australian dollar has shot around a cent higher in the past 24 hours, establishing a new seven-and-a-half month peak overnight.

<snip>

The move had an immediate impact on the currency, which overnight has been as high as 77.18 US cents.

6. Is there any way to capitalize on the upward trend of the CA and Aussie...
...dollars? I jumped in on gold and I'm doing pretty well because it follows the price of oil. What say you?

7. Dumping Dollars
Yep, gwb's sabre rattlin' is causing a herd-mentality with the oil speculators & the proposed Iranian Oil Bourse hence the dumping of $US by China and others. Helicopter Ben Beranake is gonna raise overnight interest rates again and he's printing as much paper money as he can.

Watch the fiat money measured against the $US, esp. yen $AUS and Euro.
The Canadian Dollar isn't going up so much as the value of the $US is sinking.
