Australia's trade deal not worth the paper it is written on
Sydney - The Australian government on Monday dismissed an upcoming study which has found the country's proposed free trade agreement with the United States will do little for the economy.

Trade Minister Mark Vaile said the study, provided for a Senate committee investigating the deal, was just another attempt by those opposed to bilateral trade arrangements to undermine a major agreement with America.

The study, compiled by academic Phillipa Dee, was the latest of a series to question the economic benefits claimed for Australia from the agreement.
