1. My local Toyota dealer won't even put you on the waiting list.
He says to check back in a year or so.

2. That 0.6% is important
Besides 666% of barely nothing is still insignificant.

4. at that rate, it won't be insignificant for long
One thing is clear: they can't make them fast enough. Which implies that they can sustain this huge yearly increase for a while, and that's a pretty steep exponential curve.

The only question is, when will that curve saturate? If gas prices continue to rise, I bet they've got a *lot* of room for market penetration.

And when they start making hybrid SUVs, that leaves that much more room for growth.

3. I've said it before - wait till they put one in the Highlander...
Goodbye GM, Ford, and Daimler-Chrysler.

Although Ford has a hybrid engine in their Escape. Haven't heard too much about it yet.

5. Supposedly, they are releasing a few next year, but...
But they are only releasing through a few select dealers in a few coastal cities.

When Toyota rolls out their hybrid SUV, I predict it will be a far bigger roll-out. Now that they've demonstrated such a wild popularity of the Prius, I assume that they'll try to retool for a larger initial offering of a hybrid SUV.

7. Lexus Hybrid
I think they will have a hybrid RX330. This has some large potential sales.
