Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions Hit New Record In 2006 - AFP
Geneva -- Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide that contribute to global warming reached record levels in 2006, the World Meteorological Organization said yesterday.

The rise in carbon dioxide emissions is chiefly due to fossil-fuel combustion, such as coal power stations, the WMO said.

The concentration of carbon dioxide in the world's atmosphere rose 0.53 per cent from 2005, while nitrous oxide was up 0.25 per cent, the WMO said in its latest Greenhouse Gas Bulletin.

1. Extremely misleading
The claim in the story that CO2 is 63% of the greenhouse gas is a lie. Water vapour makes up 95% of all greenhouse gas in the atmosphere while the other gases have a negligible effect on climate.

3. Well you see, what are generally called "greenhouse gases" should more correctly be called
"Forcing greenhouse gases". Water vapour is considered a "feedback greenhouse gas" and as such is not a forcing factor in global warming. But hey, thanks for playing. Katrina has a nice parting gift for you on your way out.

7. Thereby proving...
...that you can learn enough about climatology to know that water vapour is a greenhouse gas, yet still have the intelligence of a Chicken McNugget.
