Haryana set to harness solar energy to generate 92 MW of power (India)

Chandigarh, May 30, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- RWED | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Haryana is all set to tap the solar energy on a large scale as the state government has received 18 proposals from major power developers, including Reliance Industries, to establish solar power plants for generating 92 MW of power.

Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) have received 18 proposals from the Independent Power Producers for setting up solar power projects of 92 MW capacity said Director of the agency Sumita Misra.

Financial Commissioner and Chairman of HAREDA S C Choudhary assured the developers of all possible help from the government for starting up solar power projects, after a investors' meet today.

Leading companies like Reliance Industries Ltd, Albina Power Ltd, Epuron Renewable Energy Power Pvt Ltd, Emco Ltd and RS India Wind Energy Pvt Ltd had shown keen interest in setting up these projects in the state, Mishra added.
