According to an article in the LA Times, it costs $3.8 million dollars to top off the fuel tanks in a container ship traveling from China to L.A.

Say goodbye to Wal-Mart.

3. I wonder how long
It will take all those asshole corporations that closed shop here and went to China to figure out they should have stayed? I have already read about a few of them coming back because the cost of shipping is so high now.

4. The world is getting hilly?
"To put things in perspective, today's extra shipping cost from East Asia is the equivalent of imposing a 9% tariff on East Asian goods entering North America," said Rubin of CIBC World Markets. "At $200 per barrel, the tariff equivalent rate will rise to 15%."

last week, looking for a couple of things.

They had many empty shelves.

Imagine having to pay a fortune to have plastic pitchers shipped that you are only going to sell for a dollar.
