Gathering of the Vibes - volunteer opportunity
The Solar Bus has a unique opportunity for someone (possibly you) to go to the East Coast's best music festival, for free. We have one volunteer slot left that we need to fill. In exchange for helping out with the Solar Bus setup, takedown, and keeping an eye on things through the weekend, you get a free camping pass to the Vibes ($185 value). You will have a lot of time through the weekend to do whatever you want. For about 1/3 of the time you will be asked to hang out near the bus and help out. If there's any particular band(s) you want to see, we'll make sure you're off duty at that time.

This year's Vibes has a great lineup. Check out the website - http://gatheringofthevibes.com

I am posting here because I figure anyone reading this is aligned politically and has some knowledge of renewable energy. If you do have any knowledge of renewable energy it is a big plus because that's what we're doing at the Vibes. We set up all kinds of educational displays relating to solar energy and people have lots of questions. We do this sort of thing as part of our educational mission - to get out into the public and show people that solar energy really works. This is a great opportunity to open a lot of people's minds.

If you are a solar energy denier, or a nuclear power advocate, don't bother replying.

The dates of the festival are July 30 - Aug 2nd. It's located right on the beach in Connecticut.

Reply to me directly at gary(at)solarbus.org with a short paragraph of why you want to go to the Vibes, what your background is, etc... and I'll send more details.

thanks
Gary

4. You won't believe what someone said to me the other day
I had the Solar Bus at the 4th of July festival in town and a guy walked by and muttered under his breath, just loud enough for me to hear, "I hate solar energy."

I'm still laughing off my ass about it. But that's the reality we face.
