Seniors Lead The Way To Green Living (many recall the Depression era)
Austin Retirement Community Leads The Way In Green Living

It seems everyone is trying to raise the green standard. From hybrid cars to solarscaping, the age of conservation is here.

Megan Campbell found a group of eco-savvy seniors whose green ways are earning them national praise.

Every week gentleman from the Querencia at Barton Creek retirement community gather in an effort to green their community.

“There are so many people here that have got a head like an oil well. It isn't empty yet and they're anxious to work. So I’m trying to suck the oil and gas out,” Brad Mooney said.

Mooney is a former Admiral and the man responsible for cultivating their diverse backgrounds. He believes his generation has always understood "living green."

“I grew up in the Depression and people in the Depression have been conserving all along,” he said.

1. my mom is annoyed by some people's panic
given she grew up in real poverty in America and her parents made it through the Depression. Of course there's more to it than that and many people, including her, are hurting right now, but she sees the gadgets and conveniences people have and has little sympathy for that.
