Cape Wind, Barclays Ready Financing
Cape Wind, Barclays Ready Financing

Cape Wind Associates and arranger Barclays Capital are gearing up to structure financing as soon as the second quarter for the high profile 420 MW Cape Wind project off the coast of Massachusetts in Nantucket Sound.

Jim Gordon, president, is hopeful final approval (regulatory - K) will be forthcoming in a month.

1. Who's going to pick up financing when all the stuff begins to break down?
The reliability of these things sucks, pretty much.

Of course, I recognize that you are a big investor in this business, so I wouldn't want to make you um, nervous, but I note that Vestas was losing money hand over fist until it dumped responsibility for the short life time of wind systems on the customers.

2. Actually you couldn't be further off the mark.
Their performance records are extremely good with very low maint required. If you compare it to that carbon spewing SUV you love to drive the maint required would be the equivalent of 200,000 miles between oil changes.

Sorry slick.
