3. eewwwwwwwww....
It's all about feathered lizards. :puke:

(Aside to everyone else: if you're into birding and California natural history, it looks like a cool site. I'm into yanking XemaSab's chain.)

6. You're making me feel guilty...
I saw a cormorant yesterday in Walmart's parking lot overflow pond (along with the usual ducks and geese) and I thought what the heck is he doing there?

7. I saw some brownish birds of average size out my window recently.
And some kind of dove. Or pigeon, or something.

9. I'm so far from California!
I'm crazy about robins and pigeons of the East coast so I signed in anyway!

12. I could collect some of the pics I've taken of my canal...
Including the pair of black swans, but the pictures were taken some ten years ago, they were there for just one day.

I have a couple of regular black crowned herons and lots of more ordinary cranes and herons that stop by almost daily.

What is unusual is that they come to feed in a part of town surrounded by homes, etc.

It's not much really, but it's cool for me. :P

13. I would LOVE to have some black swan pictures
When I was a wee lass I went on a boat trip out on the delta, and we saw some black swans.

Seriously, any bird pix you have would be terrific. :D

14. You too? Black Swans on the Delta!
I remember going out on the dock and seeing them, or it may have been my ex-wife, probably in 1999 or 2000.

I researched it, they are not native and I didn't learn anything about breeding populations of them outside Australia.

Called the local Audubon folks who didn't believe me at first, then suggested they were SKPs.

I'll scan the pics and post an article.

:hi:

15. I would have seen them in 1980 or so
We're literally talking one of my earliest memories. I would have been three.

You should TOTALLY post something about that. For real.

Now all you need to do is build some traffic, sell some ads and you can quit working for the Pharaoh.
