How to get (tax) credits for conserving (Mass.)
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/hard_times/view.bg?articleid=1163529

To be eligible for government funding for weatherization in Massachusetts, a household’s total income must be at or below 60 percent of the state median income. In 2009, that means a family of four earning $53,608 or less is eligible. A single person will qualify with an income of $27,876 or less. Find out more at the ABCD Fuel Assistance hotline at 617-347-6012 or go to bostonabcd.org.

For those who don’t qualify for low- to moderate-income weatherization upgrades, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 includes expanded energy efficiency incentives for upgrades to existing homes in 2009 and 2010.

The financial cap for credits for new windows, as well as heating, cooling and water-heating equipment, was increased from $500 to $1,500. The legislation also includes an expansion of tax credits for renewable energy additions such as solar photovoltaic panels and hot-water systems, small wind systems and geothermal heat pumps.
