Ads on Sarah Palin Aerial Killing of Wolves is Successful - from Defenders of Wildlife

Thanks to the support of the people (donations, emails), when Alaska Governor Sarah Palin landed in Evansville, Indiana last week, she was greeted by our hard-hitting ads exposing the truth about her brutal aerial gunning program.

In fact, your response to our campaign was so great that we not only ran ads in local newspapers but we were also able to run our TV ads on major broadcast stations in the area.

As Governor Palin tries to raise her national stature, Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund is making sure people know the awful truth about her anti-wildlife policies through our Eye On Palin campaign.

Sarah Palin is escalating her war on wolves -- aerial gunners have already claimed the lives of more than 240 wolves this season. And Palin’s Board of Game has approved the use of poison gas bombs and deadly snares to kill wolf pups and their families in and around their dens.

With your support, we're not only holding Palin accountable, but we’ve already begun a major push on Capitol Hill to win support for the Protect America’s Wildlife (PAW) Act -- important legislation that will close a deadly loophole exploited by the Palin Administration to continue the brutal aerial wolf killing program.

More than 76,000 caring people have written to Governor Palin and thousands of children have sent in hand-colored messages urging her to stop her wolf slaughter from the skies.

The Eye On Palin campaign is in full swing -- and with your help we’ll continue to make sure Governor Palin’s terrible record is exposed for all to see.

Sincerely,

Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund

1. Are these wolves
in remote wilderness areas or near communities? I'm not sure I'd want to be living in the vicinity of a pack of wolves.

4. Would they need to shoot them from helicopters
if they were near a community?

5. Very Remote Areas, That's Why They Are Using AIRCRAFT to "Hunt" Them
Edited on Tue Apr-21-09 12:12 PM by AndyTiedye
If the wolves were anywhere near people, they would not be using aircraft to hunt them.

6. That's easy, don't take up residence in the territory of a pack of wolves

7. I live within a few miles of a wolf pack and I don't care a bit. Most of
the wolves she is killing are in the wilderness. The wolf pack of Denali, the most photographed in the world is being dessimated. SHe is the lowest of the lowest of the low. I love wolves. I've seen them roaming around and their music? There is NOTHING in the world like it.

Fact on wolves recently discovered: Wolves in the world are gray wolves. The Dire wolf didn't make it. Any wolf you see that is black is descended from the dogs that made the land bridge trip with early Americans. They interbred with the grays and gave the black color. They are awesome. I love them.

And there are wolf packs living near settled areas up here. And Alaska has voted down aerial wolf hunting TWICE but the sow won't obey.

9. that is good to know Alaskan people don't want aerial hunting

Once again it shows the wildlife agencies are out of touch and not representing the people.

8. I doubt your personal preferences....

...matter much to whether aerial wolf slaughter constitutes a rational environmental management policy.
