4. Hell, Palm Springs and Death Valley were only supposed to be 98F.
It's a sad day when I turn out to be living someplace hotter than Death Valley.

7. The weather geek in the penlight said NO WAY were we going to have record heat today
Well, it was 96 in 1930, so I guess the man was wrong. :P

9. Yeah, this is what passes for "somewhat cooler". I always know to hold onto
my hat when it gets really hot, because all it usually does next is get even hotter. Last June we had 9 days of pure hell, a full two weeks ahead of its normal onset (and then it's normally only 3-5 days of bad).

5. Freezing in Chicago.
I had sleet coming down after picking my son up from school. It's in the low/mid 40's right now, but is going to drop to 37 tonight.

It is spring, right?

6. I was there then.
Whew, I was thinking I'd never experienced heat like that in April. Guess no one ever had. Beating a record by over 10 degrees is scary, especially in April.

8. Last night at around 6:30 it was still 101F in West L.A. ...
but only 92 in Studio City. Very strange, sweltering weather
we're having here in SoCal. (No, I'm not going to say it ... )

10. Yeah, it only dropped down to 70 here last night, not enough to cool
my apartment off. I had to run the ACs half the night.

And I know what you mean - I have half a mind to shift all my breakables onto the floor until it cools off again........

13. Hello Kestrel91316!
I live in Woodland Hills too! and yes, it is HOT - just talked to my brother who is in my hometown of Appleton, WI - he said it SNOWED this morning. I really wish I had a swimming pool right now.

14. That's so funny - my sister and BIL are in Whitefish Bay, WI!
I love how the weather bimbos were crowing about how today was gonna be cooler than yesterday, only 95. Morans. When it gets hot, the forecast is always 10 degrees low - I think they don't want to admit even to themselves how bad it can get here.

16. Las Vegas is currently 88.8 degrees (per Weatherbug)
The humidity is 5%, making the dew point just 11 degrees and the ambient temperature more like 82.

"But it's a dry heat!!"

:P
