Clean Energy Economy Boosts US Job Market
Here's a good story showing that job growth in renewable energy sectors is not a new occurrence, but has actually been happening for the last nine years:

The Pew Charitable Trusts group issued a press release (pdf) that boasted great news for clean energy's role in the American economy. According to the report, clean energy job growth was two-and-a-half times faster than any other sector from 1998-2007. Where traditional jobs grew at a rate of about 3.7% during this time period, clean energy jobs grew 9.1%. And this was despite a then lack of sustained backing by the government.
