Get This: Warming Planet Can Mean More Snow

by Christopher Joyce

February 15, 2010

With snow blanketing much of the country, the topic of global warming has become the butt of jokes.

Climate skeptics built an igloo in Washington, D.C., during the recent storm and dedicated it to former Vice President Al Gore, who's become the public face of climate change. There was also a YouTube video called "12 inches of global warming" that showed snow plows driving through a blizzard.

For scientists who study the climate, it's all a bit much. They're trying to dig out.

Most don't see a contradiction between a warming world and lots of snow. That includes Kevin Trenberth, a prominent climate scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado.

1. Undertanding such things requires an IQ of over 100. That lets
out all the freepers and many others. To them, "I'm cold" means there is no global warming. Their lives and understanding are both momentary and situational.

2. Time To Buy Stock In Subaru
It will be the only car on the road if this keeps up for a few more years. Went to the Subaru dealer Saturday and they were selling so many Subarus they didn't care if another potential customer wanted to look at a car. Met a friend and his wife there who later called me to talk about their horrible experience. They had picked out two cars they were interested in and when they asked the salesman to price them told them they could read the sticker. Then he told them to pick one because he would only make out a quote on one of them. So much for comparison shopping. My friend and his wife went to another dealer on Sunday and left with a new Outback. Then on Monday he went back to the same dealer and bought his wife a sedan. They life on a very steep hill and have been walking over a mile home in deep snow for the past ten days. He is wealthy just tired of walking in this weather.
