Nanoscale Architecture May Solve Solar's "Thick & Thin" Dilemma
renewable energy technologies continued to be refined. Check out the latest research on solar cells.

Physicists at Boston College have discovered a possible means to solving solar technology's "thick and thin" dilemma.

First reported in the online science journal collection, Physica Status Solidi, the nanoscale coax architecture, or nanocoax, takes its cue from radio technology (coaxial cables) that goes as far back as the mid 1800's.

Researchers at Boston College invented nanocoax in 2005, and patented their technology some time last year.

1. Someone explain something about patents?
The guy who invented Teflon was working for Dupont. He didn't see a dime of the profits outside of his regular salary.

I used to have a job as a photographer. All my work was the property of my employer.

How does this "Researchers at Boston College" thing work? Do they work for the college, get grad students to help them, receive grant money, etc, but then, when/if they come up with something get to become billionaires while they keep a tight grip on their IP rights for 16+ years?
