First Solar Tumbles As CEO Gillette Exits
First Solar shares are trading sharply lower after the company announced that Rob Gillette “is no longer serving” as the company’s CEO. Chairman and founder Mike Ahearn will takeover on an interim basis.

The company said it has formed a search committee to seek a permanent replacement. No specific reason was given for the change, and First Solar declined comment on the details of the change pending the announcement of September quarter earnings.

Gillette joined the company as CEO in 2009; previously he had been CEO at Honeywell Aerospace.

FSLR is down $10.65, or 18.4%, to $47.30.
