Global warming, DVD Review gives kudos to Warner Home Video

Global warming is an issue that affects us all and as regular readers of this site may remember, I am an avid defender of anything that will help save our planet. Not only am I a big fan of An Inconvenient Truth and things like Dell's Green PC program but I'm ready laud any company taking steps to reduce the impact we have on our environment.
Today my kudos go to Warner Home Video. Last week, the studio announced that as of April 1 their entire line of DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray releases is making use of chlorine-free 30% recycled paper. While this may not seem like a significant step at first glance, think about the volumes of paper a studio like Warner is putting out through their releases, starting with cardboard wrappers, covers, booklets, inlays and entire cardboard-packaged box sets, shipping them in volumes of millions of copies.
According to the studio's own research the use of recycled paper will save enough energy to power 404 homes every year. It will also conserve more than 19.3 million gallons of water and eliminate waste to fill 115 garbage trucks – EACH YEAR!
I know there are still people out there who believe global warming is a fabrication – including our President who lives in his own make-believe world anyway. I don't have anything to say to those people other than, 'Look out the window for a change and if you still think this world looks, feels and behaves the same way it did only 15 years ago, go seek some medical attention pronto!'
And as always, for all of you who have not yet seen it, I can only recommend to watch the remarkable, live-changing documentary An Inconvenient Truth and learn from it. We have much to do, so let's do something, just the way a giant like Warner is doing something about it.
Thank you Warner Home Video for showing this industry direction, dedication and intelligence. We are proud to be counting you among our friends!
