Car Bomb Kills Hizbollah Member in Beirut
I decided this is not clearly I/P, so put it in FA.
Any clues as to what this is about?

BEIRUT (Reuters) - A powerful car bomb killed a member of Lebanon's Hizbollah guerrilla group on Saturday in
Beirut's southern suburbs, a stronghold of the Iranian and Syrian-backed organization.

Hizbollah called the man -- whom security sources identified as a Lebanese driver for the Iranian embassy --
a martyr and one of its "holy warriors," in accounts of the bombing on the group's television station.

"Hizbollah laments one of its mujahideen," a presenter on the al-Manar station said, before reading a statement saying: "Hizbollah
mourns Ali Hussein Saleh, who perished in an explosion in his car this morning."

Witnesses said the blast gouged a gaping hole in the ground, propelled the car about 10 yards and blew its driver to pieces. A
passerby, whom witnesses and security officials initially thought had been in the car, was seriously injured, security sources said.

1. hm
Apparently the man was an active member of the Islamic Resistance previously, from a couple short remarks in the few news pieces on this out so far Hezbollah seems quite certain it was Israeli intelligence (but really, I would expect nothing less from an opening statement..some more information may come up in a couple days). There was a Hezbollah ambulance driver that was bombed a few weeks (months?) ago, grenades triggered to go off when the door opened.

Maybe somebody's trying to destabilize Lebanon again?

3. Found a couple that give him credit for
an "eye-catching" record of activities, so I spose it could
have been an opportunistic hit.

But I find the idea that it was done to get a little action
going credible too. If so, they would appear to have botched
it, as all the "terrorists" are blaming Israel, as far as I
can see now.

4. If so... why this guy?
is it the Iranian connection?

or it could be something internal in Lebanon...
lots of different groups in Lebanon ...and not on the same page either... more to come I'm sure...

5. Israeli secret services has been known to go after people that
did them damage in the past, simply because the opportunity
came along.
