Former Legislative Speaker Liu Sung-pan (???), who until recently was the nation's most senior legislator with 10 terms in office, resigned both his seat and his People First Party (PFP) membership after he was sentenced to four years in prison for corruption last week.

But Liu made the decision the withdraw from political life while in the US to observe the Republican convention, and some of questioned whether Liu, 72, would return to the country to serve his sentence.

In 1998, during his tenure as legislative speaker, Liu used his status as the former chairman of Taichung Business Bank to broker a NT$1.5 billion loan to the Kuangsan Group, and in return he received a kickback of NT$150 million.

Incidentally, do you think Mandarin should be given 2nd class status relative to Taiwanese, Hakka, and the various Aboriginal languages?

2. One thing I asked 2 years ago, "What happened to the millions of NT$

which the KMT fined on school children who spoke a few words of Taiwanese?" I personally know hundreds of adults who were fined as children. What did the dirty Mainland Fascist Chinense Murderer Bastard Invaders do with this "Child Slave Money?" Isn't a "fact" like this worthy of sanctions against the KMT Murderers? How could aWol Bush impose sanctions against Venezuela for something that hasn't happened?

And in Taipei, I've personally seen the KMT Child Sex Slave Red Light Houses. Children the KMT bought from "poorer" families and put them in sex slave houses on the street. Places where children were forces to have sex with paying customers. Forces to suck Mainland KMT Chinese men's genitals.

Now that's a story 5 million out of 20 million Taiwanese have personally seen. A fact that the US Military saw when they were stationed in Taiwan. A fact that American visiting Gov. workers know. (One area where I took pics is right next to Snake Alley, the place where every visiting foreigner visited.) Guess that's why Neil Bush liked visiting Taiwan so much!

Back to the language question: How would you like it if you and all your family was forced to speak a language by invaders? Like the Japanese succeeded in their invasion of America and forced us all to learn Japanese. And all TV and radio shows in TW were also changed to Mainland Communist Mandarin too! For some reason Letterman just wouldn't be the same speaking Japanese!
