1. I heard she was in vet school at Cal Poly Pomona, which must

be interesting for her fellow students. She has a TV show and is a bit of a celebrity.

There is a vet school at some expensive private university out NEAR Cal Poly Pomona - that must be the one they mean.

who medaled this time have accomplished that.

IMO that's a much more difficult achievement than just winning a medal in one Olympic for which competitors in other sports get banner headlines.
