Fort Lewis Army Wife Kills Husband During Gun Lesson

As he prepared to deploy to Afghanistan for his third tour of duty, Fort Lewis Army Sgt. Eric Autio wanted to make sure his new bride knew how to use the couple's gun so she'd be safe while he was away.

1. alcohol + gun lesson = bad
After going drinking is NOT the time to teach someone how to shoot.

2. Let's ban
cars, since they so poorly mix with alcohol. Yeah, that's a good idea, isn't it?

3. Ban alcohol! Oh wait, that one didn't work, either.
You'd think people would eventually understand that bans don't work.

4. Well maybe we should BAN alcohol
No wait, we tried that.

How about gun registration?

"The gun that killed Autio was his own non-military issue, legally registered Glock"

Nope they did that.

How about practicing the basic rules of gun handling?

Rule # 1
Treat all guns as if they are loaded.

Rule # 2

Never let the muzzle of a gun point at anything you do not want to destroy or kill.

Rule # 3

Keep your finger straight and off the trigger.

Rule # 4

Be absolutely sure
of your target, and
what is behind it.
