This poor guy was gunned down in front of his
3 children. This could have ended differently if he had a CCW.

2. I know a few SA members - They are all retired Marines
It would make perfect sense for them to be armed.

3. Or maybe one of his kids could have gotten ahold....
of the weapon and accidentally shot themselves...but the Dad would have been exercising his right so it would be all good.

Damn the twisted thinking of the gun nuts here is scary.

4. Take a good, hard look at your post...
...as it is filled with far more "twisted thinking" than the OP's.

5. The number of kids who die from accidental shootings is microscopic in this country.
The chances of a child being accidentally shot is about one 50th the odds of someone being murdered.

But thank you for the name-calling.

6. Infinitesimally small number of accidental
shootings, and the number has been in near constant decline for 30+ years. In 2006 there were 102 accidental deaths by firearms of people 0-17. Out of 80,000,000 gun owners, that is around 0.00012% or 1.2 per 100k. Too bad there is no way to compare that to private swimming pools (934 drownings), ATVs and vehicles (3,984), poisoning (326), suffocation (1136), etc.

Every one is tragic, but no more so than vehicle fatalities or poisoning and certainly no more prevalent.

8. The numbers vary some..
here is what is on wiki,

Number of guns and gun owners in USA.

Most estimates range between 39% and 50% of US households having at least one gun(thats about 43-55 million households). The estimates for the number of privately owned guns range from 190 million to 300 million. Removed those that skew the stats for their own purposes the best estimates are about 45% or 52 million of American households owning 260 million guns).

there are about 80 million gun owners in America with a combining total of 258 million guns

9. Why is it that the crime statistics have steadily declined
as more and more states have passed CCW? I see nothing wrong with someone working for the Salvation Army in some crime ridden cesspool having a CCW. If his children would have gotten ahold of the weapon that would be the Dad's fault not the gun's.

10. And accidents have fallen more dramatically, and over a longer period of time
all while CC laws have spread and ownership+number of guns owned has risen.

Maybe guns aren't the problem after all?
