Gunowners Celebrate New Gun Law (Arizona)
GLENDALE - Second Amendment supporters were out celebrating Thursday night at an Arizona park, and guns were welcome.

The new law, which prevents Arizona cities from banning firearms in city parks, went into effect July 29.

The law also allows people to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. Arizona is now the third state, behind Alaska and Vermont, to allow concealed weapons without a permit.

Candidates for local offices showed up for the event.

"Today is a day we're celebrating the liberties that people lost and regained in the last legislative session," said Arizona State Senator Jack Harper.

And the Anti's lose, again.

3. Midwestern retirees buy RVs, then move to Arizona and become hyper-right-wingers
They circle their Airstreams and then convene a bull session to reinforce their anti-tax views. None of this wealthy class pass on cashing their Social Security checks, though.

4. Awwwwwwwww
whats the matter? Haven't had your daily dose of your anti gun bullshit?
Face it, gun control is a done issue and states like AZ, Ak and VT have recognized the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS and I hope to hell that more states follow their lead.

6. Perhaps you can provide some of said data to support your assertion?

Otherwise you are merely indulging in slander and will be called out on it.

Edit: Huh, looks like someone already did.

13. Cite your evidence, please.
And stop ascribing inane assumptions to me, without benefit of evidence.

Else you merely indulge in slander and will (again) be called on it.

5. I applaud AZ for taking this preemption stand regarding cities.
Had a similar problem in a couple of cities in TX after our CHL law was passed in 95. The Governor fixed it real quick though by threatening to cut off any and all state funds to any city that tried to monkey with the intent of the (then) new CHL law.

Great. Untrained people carrying guns and potentially firing them in stressful situations. Wonderful idea.

9. Arizona has more data to suggest that it is the shittiest state in the nation
Arizona is where Chief Justice Rehnquist used to harass black voters at the polling places because they did not meet the requirements of the "Jim Crow" laws.

11. Do you have a problem with Vermont doing *exactly the same thing*?
Edited on Sat Jul-31-10 09:26 PM by friendly_iconoclast
Arizona has *lots* of problems, but they aren't due to gun laws, all of your shouting and handwaving notwithstanding.

12. Probably kept blacks unarmed, too. You down with that?
As long as those bad ol' guns are gotten rid of, that's all that matters.
