3. And the point of this post is?

To carry a firearm into a bar in Texas is illegal, whether you have a CHL or not. So you have a 61 yr old man who violated State Law when he went into the bar. He also violated Texas CHL law if he had a CHL. If he did not have a CHL he still violated State Law in illegally carrying concealed with out a CHL.
Any way you go about it he was in violation of State Law.
