Woman attacked by her pit bull has to ask neighbor to shoot the dog
BROOKLINE (KDKA) – Early Wednesday morning, a pit bull turned on its owner, forcing the woman to choose between herself and the dog.

A woman was in the violent grasp of her own pit bull. Biting her arm and refusing to let go, a neighbor shot and killed the dog.

-----

“A lot of people were trying to call the dog, trying to get the dog off. But it seemed pretty single-minded and focused on one thing,” Matlack said.

Another neighbor came over with a gun and with consent from the owner, he fired two shots.

“As soon as he fired the first shot, the dog let go and made a beeline toward him – kind of made a step toward him – and that’s when he shot and put the dog down again,” Matlack said.

FYI he used a shotgun. Good thing he had the firearm and the skill to rescue her.

"Biting her arm and refusing to let go, a neighbor shot and killed the dog."

So the dude bit her arm, wouldn't let go, AND shot her dog. What an asshole!

7. Just another indicator of the state of US education.
Apparently, illiterate people are being hired as newspaper writers, as editors, or both.

16. "7. Just another indicator of the state of US education. "
And now you understand why people think a dependent clause like "A well regulated militia, being necessary to a free state" can govern an independent clause like "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

In reality a dependent clause cannot govern an independent clause; therefore, the collectivist view on the 2A is based on ignorance caused by either our failed education system or dishonesty.

11. Known in the trade...
...as a dangling modifier. It's amazing how many people just don't get it when you try to explain it to them.

WRITER: "But... why would the neighbor bite her arm?"
EDITOR: "I don't know--you're the one who wrote the sentence."
WRITER: <look of stunned incomprehension>

12. Dangling or just plain misplaced, not even ambiguous in this example
Right up there with classics like "The antique piano was sold to the woman with spindly legs."

15. Don't worry. It won't be that long.
The arm? Or the length of time one lives?

17. The spread pattern is not anywhere near
what Hollywood would have you believe.

00 buckshot from an 18 inch barrel spreads about 1 inch per yard.
