Badger Guns sued by wounded Milwaukee cops
http://whbl.com/news/articles/2011/jun/11/badger-guns-sued-by-wounded-milwaukee-cops/

A Milwaukee gun dealer is the subject of a lawsuit on behalf of two wounded police officers.

Jonathan Lowy is Director of the Legal Action Project of the Brady Center, representing the wounded officers. Bryan Norberg and Graham Kunisch were each shot in the head in June of 2009.

Lowy will ask a Milwaukee County judge to allow the men’s lawsuit to proceed to trial.

Badger Guns, where a gun used to wound two other officers was sold, is arguing federal law exempts them.

1. Federal law DOES exempt them
as it is and as it should be. As long as the gun was sold legally, there should be no recourse, any more than a car dealer should be liable for selling a car later involved in a DUI accident.

2. Looks like Milwaukee cops haven't changed much in 15 years.
Still thug punks with no sense.

3. Well, in their defense....
...Badger Guns doesn't have a great rep in milwaukee. Any gun owner I ever talked to avoided them.

5. Unless there were some sort of irregularity, its is a non starter
Federal law is quit clear on this.

8. I think the city tried to shut Badger Guns down a few years ago...
...due to some other irregularities. But you are correct in that none of the irregularities seem to have been enough to really lead up to a law being broken.

9. There certainly was a media PR campaign against it...but it went no where
At one point Badger was very cooperative with the police, but it is not clear if that is continuing given the harassment and law suits. They have been and are on the BATF radar and are apparently doing everything by the book.
