Airport Deputies Find Gun In Passenger's Bag

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said deputies assigned to the airport division arrested a man who was traveling with a loaded gun early Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies said that Tam Nguyen, 49, was detained at the terminal B of the Sacramento International Airport after airport security officers said they believed he was carrying a firearm.

Sheriff's office spokesman Jason Ramos said in a press release that deputies found a loaded handgun and several rounds of live ammunition in a magazine at the bottom of Nguyen's backpack.

Ramos said that Nguyen was charged with unlawful possession of a loaded and concealed firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

They "believed" he was carrying a gun. Were were all the TSA and scanners and shit? Or is it the deputies were so on top of it an all because he was a convicted felon that he didn't make it to the scanners?
