I've better things to do than constantly beat my head against the proverbial wall trying to discuss issues with those who refuse to discuss, but prefer to engage in juvenile chatter, namecalling, and outright obfuscation.

Those of you who want to reach me know how. I'll still peek in from time to time - maybe I'll even post something occasionally, but, for now, I'm going to go out in the warm sunshine and play with my new 1911. Maybe it'll be a Mini-14 tomorrow - who knows. I may stay all day - if I don't get into a shootout with some lunatic asswipe Jarts fetishist who will likely insist upon bringing a harpoon to a gunfight. (You know who you are.)

Missy is well. She wasn't broke, but we had her fixed anyway. BTW, she isn't gun shy. She actually likes to sit by my shooting table or stand by me when the pigeons (clay) are flying. If she were big enough, I'd teach her to retrieve, but 6 lbs. ain't gonna cut it for a retriever.


I now depart to enjoy my new (to me) Norinco "Model of the 1911" (I swear it says that on the slide). Wish me tight groups and rare misfeeds.

If more posters in this forum were to treat others with some modicum respect, as required by the posting guidelines, Justice/Public Safety would be a better place to hang out. Telling someone "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out" is not quite what I would call civility and respect.

Reasonable and intelligent adults can politely disagree on political issues without making everything personal. You don't have to agree with everything people say, but you do have to treat other posters with respect and civility. Will you not stand united with me against petty name-calling and profanity?

I've never posted anything from Newsmax or whatnot. I try to only post from mainstream news sources, but that's not the point.

Being described as a "big tent" means that variations in viewpoints are allowed, even encouraged. There are also Democrats here who are opposed to abortion on moral grounds, for example. One size does not fit all. The posing rules require us to be respectful of people with differing opinions.
