Sheriff ready to permit guns.
Platte County Sheriff Richard Anderson announced his office will accept concealed-carry applications.

"The Missouri legislature did not correct the unfunded mandate issue of the Concealed-Carry Act of 2003 during their last session, and there is no established timetable for them to act in the future. Therefore, it is not reasonable to continue to deny the residents of Platte County the opportunity to make application for the Concealed-Carry Endorsement especially since other Missourians can make application," Anderson said.

The risk of granting the permits without a resolution to the disputed act is that a suit could be filed against the department, as has occurred in other places in Missouri. Texas refused last week to accept Missouri permits over concern about poor background check requirements.

Certainly good news for the residents of Platte County. I wonder if Sheriff Anderson is up for re-election this year?

3. hmmm, an informed sheriff. ? nah, I think the S/A office might have
had their input in this ---- OR ----- the sheriff could be up for re-election as stated earlier. Whatever the case the sheriff did the right thing.

4. And it's such important news that there's no link...
"good news for the residents of Platte County"
Unless they happen to get shot.

And long-time residents of the gun folder have already guessed, of course, that the sheriff our "pro gun democrats" are so vociferously cheering for is......a Republican. Try to contain your surprise...
