2. Why would you want to save the AWB?
You know, people have known it was going to sunset for 10 years and all of a sudden in the final few weeks or months there's this big clamor to renew it. I think you folks waited too long.

6. You are exactly right!
He has already stated his intention.

Kerry should avoid this subject...it is a lose, lose.

5. Just my opinion, but I believe Kerry would do good by letting it expire.
I know a lot of undecided gun owners - the non NRA types that would welcome this. Of course it would also piss off some people too, but do you expect them to vote Bush?

8. Todays NY Times had a great ad
in today's paper. The ad showed four presidents that worked for the assault ban, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Ford and the one president that is working against it...Bush of course. Big bucks ad too...full page...from an anti-NRA group.

10. The AWB...
... is 100% useless except as a wedge issue against Dems. Fuck the AWB and if Kerry is smart he'll go on record as favoring the expiry of the thing and take the gun issue off the damn table already.

13. Yea keep pushing
The AWB that all we need is another issue to give votes to Shrub. If the AWB was to be renewed they would have done it in July before the recess.

The AWB Renewal will not come to a vote as it is a useless law and pushing for it will cost us votes in both the house and Senate. Don't believe me? then look at the seats lost after its adoption in 94 I think it was 20 if I'm not mistaken.

Tom

12. moveon.org should...
save their money and energy for something that matters. The ban on military-style accessories on semi-automatic rifles will die a well-deserved death in just over 110 hours (4 days, 14 hours, 10 minutes).

14. "AW" Ban hasn't done anything to make the public safer
Some people are still pretending that the sky will fall on 9/13.

16. MoveOn should be using their money for a party on Sept 13...
instead of trying to renew the POS ban.

I am looking forward to the end of this worthless ban, and to purchasing an AW.

18. Well that depends.
Should threads that got started up in GD or GD:C2004 be counted in the poll? If not then I think we're still at 7. If so, then I believe this would make 10.
