AK47s use 7.62x39 ammo.

5.56 is US military, AK47 is com-block

AWB doesn't (didn't) apply to AK47s.

AK47s are fully automatic and fall under the NFA of 1934.

They're not for rabbit, they're for tyrants.

13. Not to be a nerd, but...

The AK-47 uses 7.62x39.
The AK-74 uses 5.45x39.

They are quite different in their attributes and terminal ballistics.

As another thread said, the ban was a cosmetic thing and allowed higher prices for "hi cap" mags. Time will tell......
