Pretty interesting considering that they rarely use the death penalty.

That being said this guy definately deserved it.

Nice sentiment! And so Japanese. (Of course, he was speaking of Japanese children.)

But hanging, I don't know; hanging is for traitors and spies.

Myself, I would have given him the option of Sepuku -- a way to make apologies in this world -- and to die like a man.

...though I'm philosophically opposed to the Death Penalty on both practical and (somewhat shaky) moral grounds, it sure would be nice to see you acknowledge the eight victims of the dear departed before you started with the sneering.
That would be, Oh, I don't know, somehow decent, it would seem to me. Especially since the crime in question involved kids. How about it?

5. I'm sorry...

To me the horror of murdering 8 children stands on its own and needs no reinforcing. I also figured that it was a given that people would be sympathetic towards the victims, and I didn't need to restate this in order to make a point..

To me the death penalty is so abhorrent that, even in the face of such a terrible crime, it would be an additional crime to carry it out.

I'll cast away my clothes and wear ashes and sackcloth... but not right now as I'm at work.. And I promise to work on the self-righteous baying for blood, it'll be better next time. It might take a little while for the last vestiges of humanity and civilisation to actually drain from my veins but we'll get there... I'll be frothing-at-the-mouth in no time. Ooh... I'll take out subscriptions to The Sun and Daily Mail too.. for the indoctrination.

6. Funny I didn't see any complaints

about any lack of expressed sympathy for victims in regards to the couple posts gloating over the execution....For that matter, not a word was said about the repulsive gloating itself.

Yes, it was quite repugnant wasn't it. But who am I to judge? Apparently I care more for mass-murderers than dead children.. I'm a monster y'know, you probably shouldn't be seen talking to me.
