demographics are a significant factor in this conflict.

Specificall, I've seen posters on this board claim that Israel must inevitably implement the one-state solution or else become an apartheid state (and in the case of at least one poster, that the Palestinians will inevitably win the conflict) because the Israeli Arab rate of reproduction is much grater than the Jewish one. On the other side, I've seen people advocating transfer for the same reason. This is just to show that the basic assumption underlying both of these viewpoints is not set in stone.

While I don't have data to back it up, I suspect the decrease is due to a gradual increase in affluence and education on behalf of the Israeli-Arab population; something which tends to reduce birth rates.

5. The demographic focus always leaves me cold...

I don't like the focus on Israelis being either Arab or Jewish and how it affects the demographics, as some commentators on the conflict are so prone to do. I'll be happy when the day comes when what's important is that they're Israeli and not what ethnic group they are...

In yr first sentence of the second paragraph, did you mean to say two-state solution rather than one? If so, I've seen the same posts, but they're talking about Palestinians, not Israeli-Arabs, and what would happen if Israel were to encompass the West Bank...

i think the birth rate of educated progressives in the US is the same or declining while the birthrate of uneducated lowerclass conservatives is the same, but still like a 3 to 1!

ps- i made the numbers up based on the people ive met in LA, however i know folks in kansas dont hold back like they do here.

3. Conservative or Liberal

Doesn't matter what part of the spectrum you are on. Level of education has always affected birth rates significantly.
