4. Bet they don't cut it by much....
I'll also bet they will find some other way to funnel money to them, perhaps via pipeline from Iraq, by not making them pay for the oil being shipped to them now, or perhaps slipping them some of the $87 billion Bush is asking for, thorugh a military link??

There's no way Bush is going to cross Sharon, especially with the all of the Likud-friendly PNAC-neocons inhabiting his mis-administration right now. And, if bush pisses them off, the AIPAC friendly media people will go after him, not something he wants during an election period. So, in other words, I think this is all a bunch of poop....

re-elect numbers in the mid fourties. He doesn't really owe them squat now. The bump of perhaps 25% he may get from pro-settlement jews doesn't compensate for poll numbers like that.

Sounds somewhat nebulous, a trial balloon maybe, the usual
settlement witholding plus something for the wall, maybe.

Edit: whoops, sorry scurrilious.

8. how is Bush going to do this?
I know he thinks he can do everything with an Executive Order but he may wind up in court if he starts playing with the money strings which are clearly the legislatures plaything constitutionaly.

9. IIRC
The loan guarantee package give him sole authority to decide
if Israel is complying with its terms, and to withold money
accordingly. But that is hearsay from news stories.

11. it sounds too good to be true
CNN: US cuts loan guarantees to Israel

but according to the article at the link posted by Scurrilous, the bush* administration is only "planning" to do this. and in the past, they've "talked" about a lot of things to achieve peace in I/P, but "done" precious little. i'll believe it when i see it.
