Israel to relaunch Gaza operations if neccessary: Barak
18 January 2009 | 00:17 | FOCUS News Agency
Tel Aviv. Israel will relaunch military operations in Gaza if necessary, Defence Minister Ehud Barak said on Saturday, adding that troops would stay inside the Palestinian enclave for as long as needed, the AFP informed.
"We have accepted the Egyptian ceasefire proposal," Barak told reporters.
"We will stop the fire but there is no guarantee that Hamas will do the same. The army will stay as needed and if Hamas continues to fire, the army will fire back severely and will be ready to follow and intensify its operations as necessary."
