Israeli settlers take over house in Jerusalem's Old City

Date: 02 / 04 / 2009 Time: 10:06

Jerusalem – Ma’an – Dozens of Israeli settlers backed by police took over a Palestinian house in the Old City of Jerusalem on Thursday morning.

Ma’an’s correspondent observed settlers raiding the house of Naser Jaber, in the As-Sa’diyeh neighborhood of the Old City. A scuffle took place between the owner and the settlers before police intervened, allowing the settlers to take control of the house and sending the owner away.

Israeli police then imposed a neighborhood lockdown, prohibiting residents from entering or leaving their homes. Several youth were seized during ensuing clashes in the tense half hour between the arrival of the settlers and the total closure of the area.

Jaber went immediately to the court to put forward his case, saying he was going to demand the removal of the settlers from his residence, which is home to eight. Jaber noted that the small area of the Old City is home to seven other families and said there had been a repeated settler presence in the area over the past months.

Also on Thursday the the Israeli-controlled Jerusalem Municipality demolished a shop near the Shmidt School, on Nablus road, just outside of the Old City. The municipality claimed that the shop was built without permits.

Separately, personnel from the Jerusalem Municipality went to the Jerusalem-area village of Al-Issawiya, and handed out several demolition warnings. The men surveyed the area in preparation for the demolitions.

7. The blood thirsty GAWD of the Bible told them to do it
He is the GAWD of genocide, who also did not lift a finger to help anyone during the Holocaust. Here is but a minor sample of this cruel and criminal GAWD that should be at The Hague facing trial for his many crimes against humanity:

1 Samuel 15

Saul Destroys the Amalekites

1 One day Samuel said to Saul, “It was the Lord who told me to anoint you as king of his people, Israel. Now listen to this message from the Lord! 2 This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. 3 Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation—men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys.

8. I know what Israel claims.
"The EU report cites Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention that prohibits "Individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory...." Neither shall "The Occupying Power....deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies." In addition, numerous UN resolutions established "no legal validity" for settlement building or for East Jerusalem's annexation." http://baltimorechronicle.com/2009/040109Lendman.shtml

And what Secretary Clinton states: "Last month, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly criticized Israeli plans to demolish homes in East Jerusalem belonging to Palestinians. The US administration has argued that such destruction is a violation of the road map, and complicates the peace process." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/hammad-hammad/jerusalem-isnt-just-for-j_b_177756.html

13. I didn't see anything in the article about the religion of the home-owner...
So I'm not sure why you'd ask a question like that. The owner of the home is Arab, and whether they're Christian or Muslim wouldn't be of any issue to the settlers...

16. Israeli high court upholds eviction
The Israeli Supreme Court rejected a petition by two Palestinian families challenging their eviction from their houses in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem on Sunday.

The Hanoun and Al-Ghawi families had appealed a decision by the Israeli Central Court which also denied their right to remain in their homes. The families’ lawyer, Husni Abu Hussein presented Ottoman-era documents proving the family’s ownership of the land.

The court rejected the Palestinians’ claims, siding with Israeli settlers who also claim the land.

17. Three Palestinians injured in clashes with East Jerusalem settlers

Date: 06 / 04 / 2009 Time: 09:02

Jerusalem – Ma’an – Three Palestinians were injured on Sunday evening in the Old City of Jerusalem after Jewish settlers attacked the neighborhood, while Israeli police seized three brothers who tried to confront the settlers.

Ma’an’s Jerusalem correspondent reported that dozens of settlers attempted to reach a home belonging to the Jabir family in Sa’diyya neighborhood, which Jewish groups and Israeli forces occupied on Thursday.

As a result, three Palestinians sustained bruises. They were identified as Talal Nassar, Abddul-Raoof Jabir and Ja’far Jabir.

Furthermore, Israeli police arrested the home's owners, Naser Jabir, and his brothers Alaa and Rajaei. They were released 24 hours later. As hoards of settlers attacked the home, Palestinian residents of the neighborhood confronted them and clashes erupted as far away as Damascus Gate.

On Thursday morning, dozens of Israeli settlers backed by police originally took over the Palestinian house in the Old City of Jerusalem. A scuffle took place between the owner and the settlers before police intervened, allowing the settlers to take control of the house and sending the owner away.

Israeli police then imposed a neighborhood lockdown, prohibiting residents from entering or leaving their homes. Several youth were seized during ensuing clashes in the tense half hour between the arrival of the settlers and the total closure of the area.

one party over the other and anyone who thinks that the rule of law is NOT ok when Arabs lose the case is more of a democratic person than someone who favours the rule of law, obeyimg the law, using the legal system to settle things?

BULL!

Take your faux outrage somewhere else you anarchist.
