Ecuador becomes fifth Latin American country to recognize Palestinian state
From Haaretz:
Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia have announced this month that they recognize Palestine as state within 1967 borders.

Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia have announced this month that they recognize Palestine as state within 1967 borders.

Ecuador's foreign ministry issued a statement explaining that the country's decision "vindicates the valid and legitimate desire of the Palestinian people for a free and independent state," AFP reported.

2. How do you recognize
something that has not been declared/official exists yet? If they are doing this why aren't the recognizing Kurdistan or other would be states?

6. There is a difference
between voting for a creation of a state in the UN, and recognizing that which does not exist yet. Now if they were saying "we support the formation of a Palestine on the WB and Gaza" It would make sense to me.

But to say that the recognize Palestine, when even its own governing body has not declared statehood seems to me to be a bit of an odd way to do things. By logical conclusion of their action, they should recognize Kurdistan as well.
