14 dead, 80 injured in Israeli Military Incursion in...(Gaza)
(subject altered to fit in the limited space for it)

14 dead, 80 injured in Israeli Military Incursion into the Al Nusseirat Refugee Camp

An Israeli military attack in a Palestinian residential area in the central Gaza Strip conducted today, Sunday 7 March 2004, left dead 14 Palestinians, including four children, and more than 80 others, including 26 children, wounded.

According to preliminary investigations conducted by PCHR, at around 03:00 this morning, Israeli forces, including heavy military vehicles and aircraft, moved from the Netzarim settlement, southwards along Salah al Din Street to a point between Al-Nusseirat and Al-Bureij refugee camps. Troops then moved from Salah Al Din Street west into Al-Nusseirat camp. Israeli forces raided three civilian residential buildings owned by the Quweider, Aaliyan and Ghazal families. Soldiers detained the residents inside the buildings. One resident, Majed Ibrahim Aaliyan, 30, was forced to walk in front of soldiers as they searched the three buildings. Soldiers set up sniper positions on the top floors of the properties. At approximately 6am, more Israeli troops entered the camp. During the incursion, Israeli troops opened fire randomly into the streets of the camp, including from the positions taken in the three houses. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli helicopters flying overhead also opened fire in the area.

Four children were killed by Israeli gunfire and more than 80 civilians were injured, 26 of them children. Ten of the injured remain in a serious condition.

5. good point!
its a little known fact, but there are actually no such things as "Palestinian children" - they are ALL armed combatants and terrorists of the worst kind.

Every time you see a headline like "Palestenian child shot in back" - be sure to account for the extreme leftist bias and replace child with "armed combatant."

Damn leftists!

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1078027572006&p=1006688055060

Three Palestinian teenagers dispatched by Islamic Jihad and Fatah's al-Aksa Brigades to shoot Israelis in Afula were arrested by security forces at Jalame near Jenin last Thursday.

They were identified as Tarek Abu Mahsen and Yaffer Hussein, both 14, and Ibrahim Suafta, 16. Judea and Samaria police said the youths are all residents of Tubas, northeast of Nablus. The two younger boys were sent by Islamic Jihad and Suafta by Fatah.

The three told investigators they were willing to be killed for the sake of the cause. They were armed with homemade rifles they were to use in the attacks when they were apprehended.

now every teenager is a potential terrorist....just lovely

8. A timely post, my friend
I would not suggest all Palestinian children are combatants. However, the arming of children in the disputed territories prevents the IDF from disregarding children as potential threats. We can only imagine what these parents are thinking. Oh, my.

11. See this headline
"Raids kill children in Gaza

cut

Hundreds of Palestinians hit back, trading fire with tanks and helicopter gunships for six hours.

The dead included three boys aged eight, 12 and 15."

Yet we are not told if the so called children were among those armed and attacking the IDF.

is a defensible action? Please provide an example where an eight year old boy has harmed an Israeli.

28. The so called children are often armed combatants
Source?

Often is a subjective term. As for the term "so-called," it seems some of the "true believers" here, not unlike the Israeli gov't and IDF, view Palestinians as animals.

Otherwise, you couldn't explain this:

Israeli child-killer escapes jail

The authorities are accused of aiding and abetting settlers

A Jewish settler convicted of beating a Palestinian child to death in the West Bank four years ago has been sentenced to six months' community service by an Israeli court. The Jerusalem District Court said a plea bargain deal was reached with Nahum Kurman taking into account his claim that he "did not mean to kill" the boy, 10-year-old Hilmi Shousha.

Kurman, who had already had served eight months in prison during his trial, appeared relieved about the outcome of the day's proceedings.
"Thanks to God for helping me, thanks to all the people who were praying for me, and thank God again for giving me this wonderful lawyer, Yair Golan," he said.

At the time of the killing, the Israeli authorities said he had kicked Hilmi to the ground, placed his foot on his neck and beat him on the head with a pistol butt.

The boy died in hospital a day later after suffering a head injury and fractured spinal cord.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

33. Unrelated story my ass...
An Israeli settler beat to death a 10 year old suspected rock throwing boy--yet received a sentence of only six months community service.

Meanwhile, if I tortured my dog in Israel, I would receive jail time.

Therefore, I have concluded that the Israelis view animals more valuable than Palestinians.

43. collateral damage
Isn't that what the terrorists call the victims of suicide bombers?

Given better weapons, like US tanks, US helicopter gunships, US hellfire missiles and given $4 billion a year annually, I'm sure the Palestinian terrorists would focus their attacks on hard targets (the IDF) instead of soft targets (buses and civilians).

But, hey, why play fair, Israel, when you have the US Congress in your pocket?

The US founding fathers were viewed as terrorsts by King George's monarchy.

29. This dead Palestinian toddler wasn't armed
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3006385.stm

Violence as Israel celebrates

In the Gaza Strip, a one-year-old Palestinian child was also killed in a clash involving Israeli soldiers in the town of Khan Younis.

Toddler killed

A Palestinian child in the Khan Younis refugee camp was also killed on Wednesday after being hit by a bullet in front of his house - apparently from an Israeli gun.

His mother said that she had been standing outside her home with the young boy in her arms when she heard him crying and looked down to see him covered in blood.

He died later in hospital.

BBC correspondent James Rodgers said that the camp is next to a block of Jewish settlements and there are frequent exchanges of fire between Palestinian fighters and Israeli troops guarding the settlements.

An Israeli army spokesman called the incident "unfortunate" and said that Israeli soldiers had returned fire after coming under attack from Palestinians, the Associated Press news agency reports.

If I had a nickel for every time an IDF spokesman called one of their "incidents" UNFORTUNATE, I'd had a shitload of nickels.
