Two killed in Israeli airstrike on RafahWednesday 17 March 2004An Israeli helicopter has fired missiles into a house in the refugee camp in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, killing at least two Palestinians.
Palestinian medical sources on Wednesday said the airstrike wounded another seven, two of them seriously.
Among the dead was Faraj Abu Jazar, a 22-year-old member of the Popular Resistance Committees. A 45-year-old civilian, Mahmud Abu Nahel was also killed in the strike.
Security officials said that shortly after the airstrike, about 17 Israeli tanks poured into the area.
Palestinian fighters meanwhile have taken up battle positions against the invading Israeli occupation forces.
