IDF officer to be charged in deaths of 4 Palestinians
http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/406362.html

<snip>

"Charges will be filed against an armored batallion commander in connection with a June 2002 incident in which four Palestinians were killed in Jenin, the chief military prosecutor decided Thursday.

Initially, the prosecutor had intended to indict former Golani brigade commander, Colonel Moshe "Chico" Tamir, who held the post during the period in which forces under his command were operating in the West Bank city, but it was later decided that Tamir will face a disciplinary hearing on charges of negligence before Major General Gil Regev, head of the IDF's manpower division."

<snip>

"The military prosecutor decided to charge the batallion commander after the incident in which an adult and three children were killed by tank shells fired into the Jenin market. The incident occurred as IDF tanks encountered hundreds of Palestinians the soldiers believed to have violated a curfew imposed on the city. The company commander fired two shells in an area that was believed to be an open space, in order to disperse the Palestinians, but four Palestinians were killed and many other were wounded."

1. No problem here...surprise,surprise
If he did something wrong, he should be tried and if convicted
receive punishment. Thats what a moral, progressive government
does.

Now, when will the PA/PLO arrested anyone for anything??

(And jaywalking doesnt count.)

8. Whose evidence?
The IOF can't be trusted on issues such as killing civilians.

6. Give me a break.
I have a friend who served with the IDF and the way you portray them as murderers is insulting. The IDF is to be criticized for its policy of shelling and bombing densely populated areas. But, when they do that they are doing it because of an adherence to an abominable policy that Israel views is necessary, not because the person dropping the bombs is relishing killing people.
