Need help quick: Does anyone know how to do a screen capture
I've still got the MSNBC post about the 300,000 new jobs up on my computer and I want to capture it. They took it off after having it up for a couple of minutes... Plus, it said for the full story click on the link and when you did it routed to the bombings in Egypt.

1. Print screen
Use the print screen button on the keyboard, which should copy the pic to the clipboard. Paste into an image program.

2. What kind of computer do you have?
Mac or PC?

On a PC, all you have to do is hit your "print screen" button, or <CTRL>/C, then paste into whatever image-editing program you have, then save it.

4. You could try Ctrl+S
to save the web page to your hard drive. Choose the 'save as html, complete' option or something like it.

To do a screen capture on a Windows machine you have to press PrtScn or Shift+PrtScn, depending on which one works, and then paste the information into Microsoft Paint (type "mspaint" from the Run prompt in the start menu) or drop it into a MSWord document or something... but you would have to do that multiple times to get everything.

-- Mozilla & Windows user, wondering if Macs can do this better...

5. Hold the Ctrl key down and hit Print Screen
then goto Start | Run and type mspaint. Click OK. When Paint opens Do a Ctrl-V. This will paste it in and you can save it.

9. Did it, thanks
I've been using personal computers since the old Radio Shack days and never have been able to do a print screen on the modern pcs. The old dog learns a new trick.

6. Assuming American keyboards
Edited on Fri Oct-08-04 07:53 AM by Arancaytar
Are the same as European/German ones, at the upper right corner of the keyboard, to the right of the F12 key and to the left of the Scroll Lock key, there should be a button that says "Print", "Prnt" or some variation thereof.

Press it, then open a paint program and Paste. The screen should be pasted in the picture.

Edit: I had to leave for a while and only posted now, that's why my response is rather obsolete now.
