That Sinclair has since backed away from its original plan – announcing Tuesday that it would only air a special one-hour news program, entitled "A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media" – is in itself the sign of the power of grassroots organizing. The company refuses to admit that the protests – which resulted in a $105,000,000 financial loss since Oct. 8 – had any impact on its decision. Freeped? I didn't see much of that yesterday, and I haven't even joined in on the posting fun.

Sinclair is in a major world of hurt here and David Smith still won't show his face.

I wish someone would bring forward the Catholic school that Smith has given all that stock to and investigate what's going on there.

Also, the letter from the Comptroller of NY is excellent...this is how you put the screws to a company.

This reminds me of a company some of us sank on a Yahoo message board several years ago. It's almost the same as Sinclair...we took a company that had IPO'd at 6.50, shot up to 13.50...then we started posting things about lies we found in the DLJs and exposing the conflicts of various company principals.

Let's say I'm kinda feeling Deja Vu all over again. And if you've seen any of my posts on the topic, I'm watching a very interesting game that's playing out here behind the scenes. :evilgrin:

that's NOT supposed to happen-is it? Does this mean the f*cker won't tank, after all? Being a financial-boob, I don't know if such an uptick means SBGI will NOT plummet into the fiery pits of Hell. Man, I hope it does.

is airing at 8:00-9:00pm on the Tampa affiliate. This is on the satellite guide, so if they changed the title, they haven't changed it here.
