How to go door-to-door for John Kerry. (for people in swng states)
If you've never gone door-to-door, this is what it will probably be like:

You're given a list of names and addresses.

You ring doorbells and ask people who they're leaning towards.

If they say Kerry, you give them volunteer info.

If they say Bush, you say thank you and go to the next house.

If they say Undecided, you say why you're voting for Kerry.

You can find out when-and-where to canvass at:
www.acthere.org

or by entering your zipcode at:
https://volunteer.johnkerry.com/event/search/?TimeSpan=WholeCampaign&Type=30&&Image1.x=22&Image1.y=5

or by contacting your state Democratic party.

1. Not just for swing states...
I refuse to concede Texas to Bush. Go door-to-door in the Lone Star State! DeLay and Sessions are both vulnerable - act now!

6. DeLay may bring Bunnypants down with him.
If there is a God in heaven, and I sincerely believe there is, Delay will take Bunny down as well.

I'll KNOW God has a fine sense of humor if Texas goes blue, just as AZ will.

Let's do it!

2. Hi Eric.
:hi: I'm working for Wellstone Action and ACT running up to the election. Unfortunately I cannot canvass this weekend, but next week and election day, I am booked to help out.

9. We kind of "modified" what we were told to do by our DNC "trainers" and
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 09:04 PM by KoKo01
just knocked on doors of folks who had a sign for one of our local Dems running. We knocked on door and asked them if they were interested in having a Kerry/Edwards sign to go along with the candidate they already had. We asked if they would be willing to pass out some literature to their neighbors or would volunteer for "poll watch" or driving those who need a ride.

This was our effort to target known Dems, but those who hadn't been active in awhile. It was amazing the folks who wanted Kerry/Edwards signs and who said they would do anything to help us.

Our next target is the "Undeclared" which our trainer told us not to spend to much time with...but the five we've knocked on doors of so far have been so excited that we stopped by and asked them for help and if they wanted a yard sign. Two of them said they thought our whole neighborhood was Republican so they've felt uncomfortable doing anything and one of the last three said they had tried to get involved with the Dem party when they moved here 8 years ago, but felt they weren't welcome. They were so happy to have someone ask them what to do and give them information. The last two refused signs, said they didn't know who they were voting for and kind of blew us off.

We also just got back from putting up "Vote Early" signs with polling place and times on telephone polls in our area. We targeted apartment buildings and neighborhoods in our area.
