4 Tracking polls today: Kerry gained in two and Bush in two
TIPP--has the race tied, with Kerry gaining two points.
Zogby gives the chimp a 2-point edge--Bush up 1
Rasmussen gives the chimp a 3-point edge--Bush up less than a point.
ABC-WA Post has chimp up by 4, but it's a 2-point overall gain for Kerry (who was down by six yesterday)

In other words a deadheat. If you average all these tracking polls, Bush has a 2-point edge, a statistical dead heat.

at this time in 2000. Polls are fucking worthless. Why people buy in is beyond me.

2. Only in the Gallup Poll
In the Zogby poll, Gore actually had a 2-point lead 12 days before the 2000 election.

5. Oh, I'm not disputing your point
and it is especially valid in this particular election, when everybody is predicting record turnout and the highest ever participation of first-time voters.
