Progressives: The Higher Moral Ground
A few days ago I posted the following link from Dean Mark W Roche from Notre Dame:

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/11/opinion/11roche.html

This thoughtful article {now archived} gives a most profound view on the moral grounds that the Kerry campaign stands for. It proves that Catholic ideals are embodied in the Kerry campaign because it affirms the promotion of social justice and equal economic opportunity.

In tomorrow's Ring of Fire broadcast on Air America Reverend Allen Brill will appear to challenge Christian conservatives to consider whether the Kerry campaign squares with true Christian ideals.

To my mind, there is no question that the progressive community represents ideals that reflect Christian, moral, and pragmatic principles that work for society's betterment. But the problem is that progressives for some reason refuse to proclaim or to acknowledge that it is they who represent the higher moral ground.

Why is this so?

You progressives harbor ideals that reflect Catholic, Biblical, Christian, moral, and pragmatic principles that promote a higher quality of life and standard of living for the vast majority of Americans. Why, then, don't you proclaim it to the political world???

Why do you allow right wingers call you "liberal" as if this represents a dirty word? Why do you allow these liars to insult you, to trample on you, to call anyone who deviates from their psychotic ways a "liberal" as if this should qualify you for an old fashioned witch hunt?

You represent and embody the higher moral ground. Why not tell the world that this is so?

1. Because it's a nauseatingly arrogant position to take?
And beware of anyone who says "you" instead of "we."

2. you vs we
I'm a moderate but greatly respect Mr Kerry and his progressive agenda.

Why do you feel that this proclamation (which was made by Father Roche) is "nauseating"?
