A lady called in BAWLING, afraid Bush was going to lose on Sean Hannity!
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 06:30 PM by Quixote1818
I am not kidding! This lady calls in crying her eyes out!!! Hannity was like "What's wrong, what's wrong???" Then she went on to say that she was so afraid Bush was going to loose!!! It was so pathetic I almost threw up! She went on to call herself a security Mom and was afraid for her children. I really don't think it had that much to do with her children that she was crying but this "security mom" thing makes me worry about the undecideds.

I will say Kerry better shore up his tough stance on Terror this last week or we may lose a number of wimpy stupid Moms who think Bush will better protect her children. To me this is Kerry's one and only vulnerability and it's just the type of thing that could swing the undecideds Bush's way if we are not careful. When people are fearful especially when Moms worry about their children they will do ANYTHING to protect them. If Kerry can make them believe he will protect them then my friends this election is in the bag.

80. It should have been policy to go in and protect any stores of

weapons or ammo found in Iraq. They claimed to know where WMDs were stored and supposedly had good intelligence about a lot of what was on the ground in Iraq.
Bush* appointed Rumsfeld, who called a lot of the shots, telling the military what to do, and this is probably another example of a Rumsfeld screw-up.

Ultimately, the buck stops on Bush*'s desk.

84. They must have told the soldiers to specifically leave them
Its doctrine, pounded into skulls in basic, that if you can't secure a weapon, you destroy it. Otherwise it gets used against you.

So absent an order to guard the thing, some major should have ordered everyone to a safe distance, and tried out a fancy laser guided detonator. Wouldn't have been the first time the site blew up, according to NYT.

I forget, was rummy the one member of the team that actually served?

at the end of the call, each one of them repeated the Hannity litany, "You're a great American;" "YOU're a great American." If this was not staged, they rooted out a real loser in this wench. She was the most mawkish, sentimental, simpering simpleton I've heard in a good while.

only savior of the world is the Republican party, that it could have been staged . It still cripples me to think that this show is accepted as legit. It is as phony and crass as any Soviet or war time propaganda and yet it is being aimed at the heart of our country.
Can't we start a campaign like the one against Sinclair to get this junk off the air or get it to present the truth in response?I have asked this so many times. What about slander laws or again the responsible use of the public airwaves?

What is with these people? I've felt like crying everyday for the last almost 4 years! Did you watch the CSPAN woman nearly undecided voters focus group? I couldn't believe my eyes and ears. There was only one or two intelligent women out of 14. Some of the questions were:

If you were lost in the middle of a forest, who would you chose to lead you out to safety? Some of them actually picked *!!!! He doesn't even know where his freaking heart is located in his body. It's true!!!

Ugh. I think a lot of the woman had children, if not all of them. Another telling question was:

If your child was held hostage, who would you want in charge? Some of these idiots chose asswipe Cheney! WTF>?>> He's the last person I would chose.

I say let them cry their eyes out they're blind anyway!

I have seen some saying Kerry is struggling with women, and others that say no. I have not analyzed the internals of either, so I really don't know what to think.

I have never seen this 'security mom' phenomenon discussed in an intelligent publication. So it must be some weird cable news/conservative radio show meme. In addition, the idea that women lose there capacity for intelligent thought simple because they have a baby is offensive and ridiculous.

55. Why should she worry? Where's her faith in God? Surely God will provide.
And should Kerry win, consider it God's will. She should put herself in God's hands and all will be well. Isn't that's the way it's supposed to go?

That's what strikes me so strange, so many of these people talk about their faith but then they really seem to have so little. Bush isn't her savior or king. But this Administration and its minions apparently have done a good job of scaring many people witless. I'm surprised the Bush campaign doesn't have bumper stickers saying "Bush '04: I am the way and the light. Vote for me and you will be saved." Just a step away from Jonestown, these people are.

9-11 happened on Bush's watch. He had his chance to protect the nation and failed. In four years thanks to Bush most of the world now truly regards the USA as a rogue nation that defies international law and is armed with WMD's. This makes us feared and loathed. Not safer. This Administration scares me more than Al Qaeda or Saddam ever has.

to an unnecessary war in Iraq while leaving the actual perpetrator of 9/11, Osama bin Laden, to run free is not the man you want to keep you safe.

He has failed to secure our borders, our nuclear plants, our chemical plants, the cargo holds of our airplanes and his war in Iraq has created more terrorists, not fewer!

Creating more terrorists and creating a failed state--Iraq--to run around in does not make us safe. Lady, get a clue!

36. The Security Moms are a disgrace to womankind and this country.
9-11 fried many of these people's brains, it seems, for them to not even stop and ask themselves what Bush did to protect us, what he did after, and what he's doing now. If they did this, they would see that the biggest terrorist of them all is sitting in the WH.

This whole situation has really ripped the facade off of a certain segment of the female population who were masquerading as "modern independent women", but who are really just scared, irrational little girls who need their husbands and daddies. Disgrace. It's amazing how many of the gains of the civil rights movement people are simply willing to fritter away in the name of "security". To paraphrase Ben Franklin: "those who are willing to trade freedom for security deserve neither security or freedom." Pathetic cowards. :puke:

47. You took the words out of my mouth.
"masquerading as 'modern independent women,' but who are really just scared irrational little girls."

That describes most of the so-called "security moms" I know. My husband and I were talking about it this morning (his sis is one of 'em). I told him they'll never feel safe, I don't care who is in charge. They make it a mission in life to worry about things they cannot control. They are perfect targets for *'s fear-based propaganda.

62. It's sad, but I know several women like this
who used to consider themselves "liberals". I guess that's the thing that really hits a nerve with me. I call them exactly what I would call a man in the same situation: cowards.

Just goes to show you, it never paid to focus so strongly on the suburban vote as Clinton and the DLC did in the 90s. The most important constituency of the Democratic Party (the party of the underdog) should never be moderate suburbanites, who are basically a swing voting bunch anyway.

and feel terrible that I have no answers to this strange phenomenon. Thankfully, I've long since understood that liberty and safety are mutually exclusive.

If they're toddlers, she takes a backseat to those of us who have children who are fifteen and older.

51. I disagree...
I think anyone with children or even planning to have them in the near future has legitimate concerns. My son is four. I'm honestly terrified about a lot of things- terrorism, the impending draft, the economy, health care, and on and on. My son is first in my mind when I make political choices, which is EXACTLY why I voted and volunteer for JOHN KERRY. I feel sorry for the moms who are buying the story that Bush can better protect our children- I don't believe it for a second.

Please don't take that to mean I'm not concerned for older teens, because I am. They will be among the FIRST affected by the potential for a draft, though I believe it IS a concern for all of us.

Rebecca

57. You don't get it.
Your "concern" for teenagaers means little to me. I couldn't care less what your feelings are in this case because any stupid decisions made because people are afraid about a potential terrorist attack will have an immediate impact on my family's well being. If something happened and my son was drafted and, heaven forbid, killed in action, people like you would be the last people I'd want to see at his funeral.

This entire mess could have been avoided if we had had an honest, intelligent man in office on 9/11. But because Republicans have lived dishonest lives and have moved this nation to the right by stoking people's fears, we are were we are today. I can't help that. But I can maybe make a difference for tomorrow.

Why the rudeness? What do you mean "people like me"? So, since I'm not the mother of a teenager, I guess I'm NOTHING. Well, honey, a lot of JK supporters are NOT moms of teenagers, but we care what happens to them just the same.

Who tried to minimize your son's life? If you want to get picky about it, YOU minimized MY son's life:

"If they're toddlers, she takes a backseat to those of us who have children who are fifteen and older."

I said we ALL have reason for concern.

And apparently you missed the part where I said I was concerned that YOUR son's life would be among the FIRST impacted.

48. Bunnypants Will Send Your Children To War
...before he will send his. I've used this line on several "Security Moms". Yes, worrying about A-rabs flying airplanes into their school is a fear, but so is the real danger of having their kids sent to Baghdad to protect the chimpster's war profiteering.

crying woman back to the Brothel and let her lay a few more neocons until Sean can pay her to say she has morals and is a concerned Mother and really cares about security. With tons of explosives missing, I think I would rethink Monkeyboy's ability to secure anything.. other maybe a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Well probably not.

Kerry is stronger on terror and national defense, as witnessed during the debates. It's not his "vulnerability" except for in the minds of the deluded. I don't know how to deal with the really freaked out security moms who can't see this. Would you have a suggestion?

Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 12:14 AM by LynnTheDem
Does she cry over the families who will spend this Christmas alone because their loved ones were killed in Iraq for bush's lies?

Does she cry over the children who have lost their parent(s) because their loved ones were killed in Iraq from lack of ammo, rifles, body armor, armored humvees etc?

Does she know one single dead soldier's name? Can she name just one of the 40,000 American men, women, and TEENAGERS who are wounded or sick because of bush's bullshit INVASION?

Does she have any idea how many American men, women and TEENAGERS are DEAD because of bush's INVASION of bullshit?

Does she have any idea how many American men, women and TEENAGERS are lying in comas, suffering permanent brain and/or nerve injury, suffering loss of limbs because of bush's lies?

Does she shed one single fucking tear over THEM???

She cries because her crystal cage has shattered.

She cries because her world is changing.

She cries not for the children, but for her own damn self.

I hope she cries on, because selfishness deserves to die.
